On my birthday 2 weeks ago, January 9th, 2013, LinkedIn announced that it had surpassed 200 million members. Two major milestones.
Next week I’ll be in San Francisco to talk about Linkedin optimization and other cool tools at the Social Recruiting Strategies Conference. This will be my 3rd #SRSC, and I can’t wait.
More milestones…and a couple of firsts.
My excitement is enhanced by the fact that my good friend, Lars Schmidt of National Public Radio, and I will be going to Twitter HQ for a special TalentNet Radio broadcast, on 1/29, with the Twitter HR & Recruitment team as guests. We’ll discuss Twitter as a recruitment platform and preview the special #NPRTwitterChat that we’ll be doing, also from Twitter HQ, that Thursday, 1/31.
Lars put together the new collaboration between the NPR and Twitter Human Resource teams to help job seekers use Twitter to aid their search. Details at NPR.org’s This Is NPR blog here. I’ll be there as a subject matter expert on using social media for job search.
Added to all this, I’ll be heading with friends William Tincup, and John Sumser to SmartRecruiters‘ headquarters in SOMA to share personal social media recruiting stories with attendees of a #Smartup. Food, drinks, and fun! Register at http://smartupfeast.eventbrite.com/
You can hear Lars and I talk Twitter with Twitter on the TalentNet Radio broadcast, Tuesday, 1/29 7-8PM EST. Details at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/talentnet/2013/01/29/social-media-the-job-search-nprtwitterchat. And you can follow on Twitter at #Talentnet.
